He wanted to jump that brook, and he fell asleep wishing. Wishing that he could jump the brook, the way his mother did.

To grow up was what I wanted
To be big, to be fast, be in first, not in last
But I guess that’s in the past

I heard the story of a little horse
The way it’s written it could sound like it was me
The most ambitious thing, that he dreamt
Was that he jumped and sprouted wings and turned into a Pegasus

He turned into a Pegasus

To run, to jump, to fall from a bump
To trip on the roots of life and get dumped by your dreams
Why is life so mean?
I wanna sprout my wings like the little horse
Fly up to a place where I can’t get hurt
I’ve mourned my innocence
That’s why I turned into the Pegasus

He thought, “With these wings, I can jump over anything!”, and he did. He went higher, and higher.

When I woke up
I looked around
I tried to find what was mine, but my wings they had lied
I was in the biggest river

If only I could jump back to the other side
From which I so wanted to desperately fly, I was wrong
I was wrong
